Link building Tips: Not To Overdo Promotions For Web Traffic Generation

Web marketers would grab any chance they could get in promoting their website, be it an ebook giveaway or a free newsletter. They would stop at nothing for the sake of ensuring ultimate traffic generation for their site. It sounds like a good thing, really. I mean, who would pass up an opportunity if it could mean higher ranking on search engine results pages and greater website traffic, right? But like all other good things in this world, too much can be a bad thing. Overdoing website promotions can actually do you more harm than good.
Giving away something special every week and having promotional activities at a predictable pace will lose the excitement of your subscribers. Instead of piquing their interest, they will get worn out with all these extravagances. Sad to say, they would eventually form a negative impression of you as someone who is very desperate in promotional activities.

What you have to do is to take it easy. One step at a time is the perfect timing. Web traffic generation is a constant process. It does not happen overnight. If you have to ask the success story of great web marketers who have made it thus far in the internet business, they would tell you to be patient and persistent at the same time. Basic linkbuilding is the key, coupled with a lot of other strategies to succeed in online marketing.
Article submission, blog commenting, forum posting, social bookmarking, social media promotion, podcasting, video uploading, keyword research, press releases, blogging, among many others are the most popular search engine optimization and traffic generating techniques of all times. You can choose to do all of them if you can, but subtly and in an organized manner. Do not just plaster your link on every web directory you can find, especially if that directory has a “nofollow attribute” tag on the links submitted to them because then it will render you no use at all. In the same way, do not post your articles on every article submission site you can find. Some people recklessly post health-related articles on a political article directory, which can be very irresponsible and disrespectful to the owners of that site.
Occasionally, you can give out freebies like ebooks and newsletters. Once a month or every two months is good, but giving out free products each week just to promote your website is not. So as long as you remember these tips, including a few internet ethics, you’ll be just fine.
